Also known as a cookie butter latte, a Lotus Biscoff latte is a coffee drink made with brewed coffee, Biscoff cookie butter, cream and milk.

The result is a creamy hot latte with a warming spiced and caramelised Biscoff flavor.

Biscoff spread is a popular product by the makers of the classic Lotus coffee biscuits.

Renowned for their spiced caramelized flavour, there are many Biscoff recipes for coffee drinks, desserts, cookies, cakes and more!

The cookie butter spread is a great product for baking and also for blending Biscoff and coffee in hot and cold coffee drinks recipes.

What You Need For A Cookie Butter Latte Recipe

To make your Biscoff Lotus latte you will need a coffee maker, microwave or stovetop and a milk frother.

1. Coffee Maker

I like to brew french press coffee for this recipe, but you can also use a regular drip coffee maker, espresso machine or moka pot too.

2. Microwave or Stovetop

To warm up your cream and melt the Biscoff cookie butter spread you will need a microwave or small saucepan to use on the stove.

3. Milk Frother (Optional)

This is by no means compulsory, but if you like your hot coffee drinks to have a layer of creamy foamed milk on top, you will need a milk frother and milk jug.

The foamed milk provides a nice layer to drizzle the extra Biscoff lotus spread over the top of your coffee.

If you own an espresso machine, you can froth milk using the integrated steam wand.

But you can also use a stand alone milk frother or handheld frother to achieve the same result.

Biscoff Spread Coffee Ingredients

The ingredients you need to make a Biscoff coffee latte are:

  • Brewed coffee – a batch of strong brewed coffee. I like French press coffee, but you can use drip, stovetop or espresso coffee too.
  • Biscoff cookie butter – the smooth and not crunchy version is best. You can find it in your local supermarket and online at Amazon.
  • Thickened cream – also known as whipping cream, this is used to blend with the melted cookie butter for a rich creamy taste.
  • Milk – I use full cream milk, but low fat milk will also work just fine.

You may even want to buy some Lotus Biscoff biscuits to enjoy with your latte. Find them in the biscuit aisle at your local supermarket or buy them online.

How To Make A Biscoff Coffee Latte

Step 1 – Brew your coffee

First brew the coffee using your favourite brewing method.

For this recipe French Press or filtered coffee works well. However you can use other methods too with some modifications to the recipe.

If using an espresso machine, pull a double shot of coffee and lengthen your espresso with hot water (much like a long black) to achieve the same quantity of brewed coffee.

The same goes for a moka pot – brew your pot, then add hot water to achieve the required amount of coffee.

You could use a pour over coffee maker, but be sure to brew a strong batch.

Otherwise I fear it may not be strong enough when paired with the Biscoff cookie butter and cream.

Once brewed, pour the coffee in to your mug.

Step 2 – Heat the cream and Biscoff spread

In a small saucepan over the stove or in a microwave safe bowl, combine the cream and Biscoff spread.

Heat and stir until the cookie butter has melted and the cream has warmed through.

Add the warmed mixture to your coffee and stir to combine.

Step 3 – Froth the milk

Pour the milk into a milk jug and froth until finely textured and creamy. See our full guide to milk frothing here.

If using a handheld frother, warm the milk in the microwave first, then froth until you achieve a creamy foamed texture.

Pour the foamed milk over the top of your coffee.

Finally, for a little extra Biscoff cookie butter sweetness, melt an extra tablespoon of the spread in the microwave and drizzle over the top of your milk.

Enjoy the spiced caramel flavours of Biscoff spread in this delicious Biscoff latte. With coffee, frothed milk, cream and Biscoff cookie butter, it is a sweet, hot and comforting homemade coffee drink.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups brewed coffee
  • 3 tablespoons thickened (whipping) cream
  • 1 tablespoon smooth Biscoff spread
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Biscoff spread (melted) - optional

Instructions

  1. Brew coffee and divide between two mugs.
  2. Place cream and cookie butter into a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat and stir until cookie butter has melted.
  3. Divide the cream mixture between the two mugs and add to the coffee. Stir to combine.
  4. Warm and froth the milk and pour on top of the coffee mixture.
  5. Drizzle extra melted cookie butter on top and enjoy.

  1. If using an espresso machine, pull a double shot and lengthen with hot water to make 2 cups.
  2. You can also heat the cream and Biscoff spread in the microwave instead of a saucepan. Heat for 20-30 seconds, check and stir. Heat for a little longer if required until melted.
  3. I use an espresso machine steam wand to froth the milk. Alternatively you can heat the milk and use a handheld frother,
