ECU is -345 favorites today. Evansville at +250. I'm personally shocked that we're that big of favorites given pitching situation.

Root should be scheduled for a bullpen day today. So him throwing 40 pitches or so would keep him on schedule. He still should be good to go Saturday when we would need him vs Tenn. I say you have to start him if he's able. Then situationally the rest of the game...Kahler would be next, IMO.

I get worried that freshman lefty pitches well against us.
I've always had the problem of emotionally hedging so I will take Evansville +250 and it would be best money I've ever lost.

Oh I've emotionally hedged the whole tournament. I have a small bet that I made before the regional for Evansville to win the whole region, small bet on them to win today, and a larger bet on that over because that one just feels insane given the way both teams have hit this weekend and the pitching situation for both teams. Emotional hedge is the way to go, almost every time I remember to do it ECU wins. The only thing that can outweigh ECU's ability to screw things up is my ability to lose bets.

We really should be able to out talent them offensively with both bullpens clinging to life, but a noon Monday game still has the potential to suck enough life out of the stadium to make it tolerable for Evansville, if not hospitable.
Deverman returning for some role is not out of the realm of possibility.

No way Root throws at all today. If he hadn't missed a month+ with arm soreness and he finished strong on Friday, maybe you could squeeze an inning. I could be completely wrong, but I think even the thought of him going today is out of the question.

Evansville starter must be not 100%. Looks like he was good early in his career but has been horrible in 11 innings this year

Glad I got in on FD then @13.5. MGM had -125 @ 13.5. FD was slightly better odds.
