Farming gold has always been a hot topic for World of Warcraft players. Every method helps because you can never have too much gold, but sometimes you just want to keep things simple and earn your coins while you play without diving into complicated systems or Auction House strategies. In this article, we’ll share the best ways to earn raw gold in Dragonflight without relying on professions or Auction House sales. Getting Ready for Your Gold Farms
Before we dive into the farming itself, let’s go over some tips to help you earn gold faster and maximize your gains.
Turn On War Mode
War Mode enables open-world PvP, allowing you to engage in battles with other players while exploring Stormwind, Orgrimmar, or Valdrakken. This mode is great for PvP enthusiasts, but even if you’re not really into PvP, it’s worth giving it a shot for two main reasons. First, you’ll earn 10% more XP from completing quests and defeating mobs while on War Mode. Second, and most important for our goals, you get the same 10% bonus for gold and other currency rewards from completing World Quests. It’s a small boost, but it adds up over time. To turn on War Mode, just click the button in the Specialization and Talents tab.
Get Your Wyrmhole Generator
There’s a nifty item called the Wyrmhole Generator: Dragon Isles that lets you teleport to various locations across the Dragon Isles. To get this toy and warp to specific spots, you’ll need to level up your Engineering profession, but it’ll definitely be worth your while. This item can significantly speed up your travel time, which in turn, speeds up your gold farming.
Install World Quest List and World Quest Tracker Addons
These addons make your World Quest experience much smoother by providing all the necessary information in an easy-to-read format.
World Quest List displays a list of available quests in the selected zone, including details about rewards, time left to complete the objectives, and more. World Quest Tracker adds a custom quest tracker and lists the chosen quests directly on your map. Both addons also add extra icons to the map and are easily customizable to fit your preferences.
Using these two tools together is super convenient, but if you have other addons you prefer for managing World Quests, feel free to use them instead.
Get the Most of Dreamsurge
During the Dreamsurge event, you have the chance to earn twice as much gold from World Quests in the active zone. From time to time, there’ll be a vote for the buff that will apply to the event. Once the Dreamsurge Magpies buff is active, the gold you get from mobs and quest completions is doubled, so make sure to take full advantage of it while you can.
Use Your Alts
Your alts offer a fantastic way to earn that extra bit of gold. You can and most definitely should use them for all the methods we’ll discuss in this guide. Let’s say you earn 15,000 gold by completing quests on your main character. Doing the same quests on two of your alts can triple your rewards, netting you a total of 45,000 gold. That makes a hefty boost without too much extra effort!
How to Get Raw Gold in Dragonflight Fast and Easily
Weekly Quests
First up, you should aim for the Last Hurrah quest. It’s available in Valdrakken in three variations: Dragon Isles, Emerald Dream, and Zaralek Caverns and Time Rifts. Regardless of the specific version, completing this quest will reward you with a cache packed with gold and other valuable items.
The second quest to focus on is A Worthy Ally, available in two variations: Loamm Niffen in Zaralek Cavern and Dream Wardens in Emerald Dream. These quests come with plenty of follow-up content that offers additional rewards.
Each of those also has a chance to drop an item called Overflowing Satchel of Coins, which contains around 15,000 gold.
Dragonrider Racing
Each of the eight Dragonrider Racing World Quests drops an average of 550 gold. With the weekly resets, you have the chance to complete 16 races and earn over 8,000 gold in a week. The quests are super easy: you just need to fly your dragon through a designated course.
World Quests
Here’s where the addons we mentioned earlier come in really handy. With them, you can filter World Quests to complete only those that reward gold. The minimum you can get from this is 5,000 gold, not counting the 10% War Mode bonus. That’s pretty decent, considering the resets allow you to do this twice a week, which brings you to around 80,000 gold in a month.
Bonus: Raid BoE Items
We know, we promised not to talk about Auction sales, but this method is just too profitable to ignore in the first weeks of the patch. If you feel fairly confident in raids and don’t mind doing regular runs with friends or searching Premade Groups for farming companions, then feel free to dive in. It’s simple: farm bosses and then sell Purple Bind-on-Equip gear at the Auction House. The prices are very juicy — you can easily earn from tens of thousands to a couple of hundred gold for one item.
